ArkStream Capital:Bitcoin and Future Infracon Highlights
On May 9, 2024, the Hong Kong Bitcoin Summit, titled “Bitcoin and Future InfraCon,” successfully concluded. Co-hosted by ArkStream Capital, Nubit, and L2IV, the event also received strong support from co-organizers Babylon, Polyhedra, Thesis*, Lorenzo, and BlockBeats, bringing together many elites and leaders from the Bitcoin ecosystem.
The conference featured several renowned industry experts and business leaders, including Luke Pearson, a partner at Polychain Capital; Domo, the founder of BRC20; Xinshu, CSO of Babylon; and Yu Feng, the founder of Nubit. They engaged in in-depth discussions about the future development of Bitcoin, infrastructure construction, and its role in the global economy.
Ye Su, founding partner at ArkStream Capital, highlighted the significance of the Bitcoin ecosystem for ArkStream Capital’s strategic investments in his opening speech at the summit. He particularly emphasized the role of Bitcoin wallets as user gateways, support for new assets through open-source and decentralized indexing protocols, and various native infrastructures that expand Bitcoin application scenarios and liquidity. Ye Su pointed out that Bitcoin is not only an asset for storing value but should also play a broader role in a more extensive ecosystem. By building infrastructure and developing applications within the native Bitcoin ecosystem, it is possible to achieve a smart contract platform and corresponding ecosystem without leaving the Bitcoin network.
Additionally, Ye highlighted the ongoing “hybrid L2” projects aimed at enhancing Bitcoin’s scalability and supporting smart contracts and decentralized applications, which are crucial for advancing the Bitcoin ecosystem.
The conference included three keynotes and three panel discussions, where guests delved into topics such as Bitcoin infrastructure and innovation, Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKP) and BitVM, and the transition from infrastructure to application.
Panel 1
moderated by Kony from L2IV, focused on the construction of Bitcoin infrastructure and middleware, including indexing standards, oracles, and meta-protocols.
Panel 2
led by Xavier from Nubit, explored the impact of zero-knowledge proof technology and BitVM on Bitcoin’s scalability.
Panel 3
chaired by Chung from ArkStream Capital, emphasized the importance of infrastructure in driving innovation in Bitcoin applications.
This conference showcased Bitcoin’s vast potential as a global financial infrastructure. With the advancements in middleware and Layer 2 solutions, Bitcoin is poised to broaden its applications and foster a thriving new ecosystem.
